2. General Information on Data Processing

We process our users' personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website along with our content and services.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus). When you visit the website, information is automatically stored in server log files that your browser transmits (e.g. IP address, date and time of the request, browser type, referring URL). This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in a technically error-free presentation and optimization of our website. Log file storage is kept for security reasons (e.g. to investigate misuse) for a maximum of 7 days and is then deleted or anonymized. A data processing agreement (DPA) under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hostinger.

The fonts used on this website (Fraunces, Inter) are hosted locally on our own server. This means there is no connection to Google servers or other third-party servers, and no data is transmitted to third parties.

4. Cookies

This website uses technically necessary cookies and local storage functions by default (e.g. to save your choice in the cookie banner, legal basis Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). On your first visit, you'll see a cookie banner where you can choose between "Necessary only" and "Accept all". Analytics cookies (see Section 5) are only set if you actively choose "Accept all". You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

5. Analytics (Google Analytics)

If you consent via the cookie banner ("Accept all"), this website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated is transmitted to and stored by Google, in some cases on servers in the USA. We have activated IP anonymization, so your IP address is shortened by Google beforehand within EU/EEA member states. Processing is based on your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; you can withdraw it at any time with future effect via "Cookie settings" in the footer. More information: Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Newsletter

If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email address to regularly send you our content. [The specific newsletter provider, double opt-in procedure, and unsubscribe options are to be added here once a tool has been selected.]

7. Comments

Articles on this website offer a comment function provided by Cusdis. When you submit a comment, your comment text, the nickname you provide, and – for technical reasons – your IP address are transmitted to Cusdis's servers and stored for the purpose of displaying and moderating comments. Providing an email address is optional. Processing is based on our legitimate interest in offering a functioning comment feature, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can find more information in Cusdis's privacy policy.

8. Affiliate Links

This website contains so-called affiliate links (including Amazon Associates, AWIN, Digistore24, and potentially individual brand affiliate programs). When you click such a link, the respective partner may set a cookie in order to attribute a possible later purchase to your click. [Details on the individual affiliate programs and their data processing to be added.]

9. Pinterest Embeds

Some articles embed individual Pinterest pins directly. These embeds are only loaded if you consent via the cookie banner ("Accept all"); until then, only a link to the pin on Pinterest is shown. Once loaded, the embed is provided by Pinterest Europe Ltd., Palmerston House, 2nd Floor, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, Ireland, and may set cookies and transmit your IP address to Pinterest, in some cases to servers in the USA. Processing is based on your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; you can withdraw it at any time with future effect via "Cookie settings" in the footer. More information: Pinterest's Privacy Policy.

10. Your Rights

You have the right at any time to access, rectify, erase, restrict the processing of, and receive a copy of your personal data, as well as to object to its processing. Please contact us using the contact details provided above.

11. Right to Lodge a Complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data.
